• Relationship Description
At first Salem and Elise were rivals at their jewelry shop trade, then became business partners over time. Salem is often snooty with girls (as his first girlfriend dumped him on their wedding day and his little sister left after fighting with him), so he takes his time opening up to Elise. However, Elise is more benevolent and good-hearted, so she helps him ease up.

• Storyline
Synopsis: When they first met, they were too proud and one tried to fakely compliment their place; the other one was scrubbing/tending to something and was rude, with a snotty comeback. It just builds from there, with tension even moreso because they have crushes on eachother. Salem thought she made her shop next to his, to try and steal his customers and now she's coming over all nice?? What does she want? Is she trying to charm/flatter me for something? So he was all pettily pride hurt and maybe even under this assumption because it's a trade like his sister's and they had a similar issue.
Exposition: Salem started gathering info. on Elise as a manner of studying her as competition (not for something bad intentionally), like who she is, her family, what she specializes in, etc. and keeps those docs in a folder in his shop office. Since Elise is always talking about Salem to Lotte, in a bad/annoyed way, but she also speaks a lot about him because she kinda has a crush on him but doesn't realize, Lotte thinks that Elise really hates Salem. Then, since Lotte is all gossipy and stuff, she decides to try to do something to help Elise with the competition but doesn't tell her anything. She snoops in his office and finds the docs on Elise, maybe even other dirt on him (could be his journal, which held his feelings for Elise in it).
Rising Action: So she thinks Salem is going to blackmail Elise with the info. and starts a rumor about the fake jewels; but Salem doesn't know and thinks it was Elise that did it. Lotte started the blackmail on Salem, starting rumors that the jewels/materials he uses to make jewelry at his shop were fake. She told Elise and convinced her, which is why Elise also participated. So people stopped shopping at Salem's store since they thought he was scamming them; he also had people returning with complaints. Lotte also found out about Salem's true feelings for Elise and told her.
When Elise starts to notice something odd is going on with Salem's shop (and him), like maybe she doesn't see him around as much (since he's overworking) and that no people is coming into his shop, etc. She goes to check on him and finds him in the front of his door ag ain, but he's super stressed/sick/frustrated/etc. And also kinda hates her because he thinks she's the one that started the rumors, so he's really harsh/sarcastic towards her with the intention to hurt when she asks if everything is fine. Like, "What? What are you going to ruin in my life now" stuff like that, but Elide is very confused and she says she doesn't know what she's talking about, etc. So they start fighting back and forth and throwing really hurtful words and attracting people's attention and somehow Salem is so hurt that he ends up saying something about his feelings for her and Elise is taken aback. Salem just kind of storms away and goes inside because he's embarrassed and what not and he gets sick after Elise later finds out about the rumor thing, by asking people and then from Lotte. Then she feels really bad because that's not the kind of competition she wanted with him (it was about skills) and she doesn't really hate him, etc. She probably goes to Shesta to try to help him clear his name too, and also goes to check on Salem and that's when she finds him sick.
Climax: Since his business was failing and hers was fine, she came to check in on him (he leaves it unlocked eventually because he got careless). He accepts her help because he has no other choice and she tries to tell him how she didnt mean for this to happen (basically it wasn't her). At first he was all defensive (easier if he's not in good condition to like, yell at her to get out, etc.) but then eventually she'll offer to help with his shop or if his workers are away. They were on vacation at the time, and he also became depressed because he was overworking or not taking care of himself in general; kinda like how people won't eat when they're in love or depressed, because he's both; and probably thinks she thinks badly of him, and doesn't like him as well. Either he's not in condition to keep the store front or he's too ashamed to. So they get over whatever he had previously thought (like she wanted something), eventually he'd open up (maybe moreso if he was sick/hurt/unable to do much except talk to her). Then she tries to tell him how she's not, etc. and he ends up asking for her to check something, like a sign, etc. and it says how his workers are on vacation, and he's like, I knew it... and hadn't been at the shop to tell, but they weren't there to help him, so he did need her afterall and he would also admit how his family and everyone never checks up on him (or maybe she asks about that too, like, hes either hurt or sick and no one is around? even though he seemed like he would have a lot of friends or something).
Falling Action: After Salem's depression, since Elise had been taking care of his shop and also tending to him at times, Salem decided it's not so bad having her here; then to make an offer to her, a partnership agreement in paperwork. She ends up comforting him and forming a tentative friendship and he'll still deny liking her anyway.
Other events: Unlocking Salem's Potential I., Unlocking Salem's Potential II., Salem's Dungeon, Marriage, Childbirths.
Catastrophe: In the alternate timeline, in the future something goes awry (this affects all main characters in Aeter Euum negatively).
Their future selves come back to the past (before it happened) and warn their present selves (just after unlocking their full potentials), about what will happen and seek a way to alter the future. Apparently in the future Aiji had built a time machine in order to do so. Their future selves are of age to be married and also seem to have children. They bring them to the future to show them the effects on their world, as well as introduce them to their distant futures.
Resolution: In the end their futures are saved, and their past and present selves return to the proper times. In the distant future they will be successful, some married and with children and all on good terms to deliver the new generations into the world...
• Battle
Roles:
Salem works as a tank or crusader (protective and strong), while Elise fights as a magic user primarily. Although he does use magic as well, making him a combo (proficient in both magic and melee). He fights recklessly however, going head on into the fray.
Elise fights long-ranged, so she can be anywhere she's needed on the battlefield. She also heals, but is better at using magic.
Weapons:
Salem fights using a spiked shield, where he can bash using it's front or top edge. It's originally made of diamond, so it's too hard to break and won't retain damages.
Elise uses reinforced threads (cotton, wool, silk, nylon, spider silk, steel, diamond, etc.) to fight enemies from a distance.
Skills:
Salem has mostly merchant skills, like getting discounts and overpricing wares, lapidary and polishing jewels. In the near future he finds work at the castle in Lecross, to be a guardsman and is trained to fight with his shield better.
Uses sets of reinforced threads made from diverse materials to sew fabrics or suture wounds, reattach limbs or to bind or strangle the enemy with swift movements. She's also skilled in design, decorating and tailoring.
Magic:
Salem uses mineral magic to fight with, so he creates shards and gems and larger mineral clusters. However, if there are no minerals present in the ground below or near him, he can't utilize his magic.
Elise uses holy light magic, to heal, bless and protect allies.
